What better way to give this old year the boot and usher in the new one than to celebrate with family and friends? Sure, you could spend yet another night cuddling on the couch with a movie and popcorn, but you could do that anytime! New Year’s Eve is a night for revelry and celebration, so check out our list of New Year’s Eve events in Asheville and get off the couch!

Restaurant Events

Before you go out for the evening, be sure to fuel up with a hearty brunch at Azalea Bar & Kitchen right here at The Residences at Biltmore. A mix of breakfast items, Southern comfort entrees, and curated cocktails are on the menu from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. No reservations are necessary; just stop in and get a seat.

Bargello will offer a four-course Mediterranean prix-fixe New Year's Eve Menu for $110 per person. Dinner begins at 5 p.m., and reservations are suggested by visiting the OpenTable website.

Party on the rooftop at Capella on 9 from 3 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. After 8 p.m., pay a cover charge of $30 per person for a drink ticket and champagne toast at midnight, and enjoy live music and a photo booth. No reservations are required.

Posana will serve a four-course prix fixe curated by Chef David Van Tassel. Optional wine pairings by the restaurant's Sommelier will be available, as well. All the details can be found at the website, and reservations are required.

Curate's La Bodega will host its New Year’s Eve dinner, prepared by Chef de Cuisines Matt Brown & James Jeffries and Wine Manager Jessica Salyer. A special tasting menu will be featured, complemented by a la carte options. Indulge in a Spanish culinary journey, as expertly selected wines flow seamlessly, enhancing each dish. Reservations begin at 4:30 p.m. and can be made at La Bodega's website.

Bars and Breweries

Ring in 2024 at Pillar Rooftop Bar during "Rudolph's Rooftop" in Downtown Asheville. The night begins at 5:30 with music from The Lads AVL, followed by The Buffalo Kings at 9:30. Giveaways, food, and holiday cocktails will be served throughout the evening, beginning at 4 p.m. and ending at 1 a.m. after a midnight toast.

"New Year's Eve 80's Dance Party" at One World Brewing West with an all-star tribute to the ‘80s featuring members of Snarky Puppy, The Chase Brothers, Jazz Is Phsh, The James Brown Dance Party, Mood Ring, and Chess Club. The party kicks off at 9 p.m. and ends at 2 a.m.

New Year's Eve at Antidote Cocktail Lounge starts at 4 p.m. and includes light charcuterie and desserts, live big band music and a DJ, and original and classic cocktails. There is a $10 cover charge at the door.

Well Played Board Game Café is offering ticketed entries starting at 10 p.m. that include drinks, small plates, merchandise, and door prizes. Ring in the new year at the cafe until 1 a.m. Tickets are available at the website.

Live Music

The Infamous Stringdusters are bringing their "Jamgrass" grooves to the Orange Peel for three nights, Dec. 29-31. Shows start at 9 p.m., and tickets are available for individual nights and all three nights. Get your tickets at the link.

The Snozzberries will be performing LIVE on the Indoor Stage at Salvage Station on New Year's Eve, as well as DJ sets by Luma, FunkBox, and KirbyBright. A midnight countdown will feature champagne for all in attendance, a full bar will be available, and the Root Down soul food truck will be set up for eats. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the music starts at 8:30 p.m. Get all the details on the venue's website.

The Asheville Symphony is presenting "New Year's Eve: She's Got Soul," a showcase of some of the greatest female singers of soul and pop presented by Capathia Jenkins and a trio of backup singers. The Symphony will serve as the accompaniment. The event begins at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Harrah's Cherokee Center's Exploreasheville.com Arena. Get tickets online before it sells out.

New Year’s Day

Lake Lure Polar Plunge Dip more than just your toes in the lake about 45 minutes south of Asheville to raise money for charity during the New Year’s Polar Plunge. Crazy participants dive into the chilly waters starting at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 1, and the event features music and bonfires. If you’re not brave enough to participate, spectators are welcome!

First Day Hikes Get started on your New Year’s resolutions with a walk in nature. The North Carolina State Parks system offers free guided hikes on Jan. 1. For a list of participating trails, visit the Parks’ website.

Biltmore Biltmore Estate is still decorated for the holidays and Candlelight Christmas Evenings through January 6, and the estate is open on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Purchase tickets for the house tour in advance on the website.
