The summer heat has gone away and the autumn breeze is here to stay! Blue Ridge Parkway
- It’s fall Yall! Which means The Blue Ridge Parkway is bursting with colorful, stunning views everywhere you look. And you haven’t seen the Blue Ridge Mountains until you’ve seen them in peak leaf season. This scenic highway features many overlooks that are perfect for snapping photos that anyone would be proud of. You can also unleash your inner pioneer on the many hiking trails that call the “parkway” home. So take a drive with your family on the inviting, winding roads of the parkway this October.
- Why not experience the fall foliage from a bird’s eye view? These treetop zipline tours are sure to inspire the thrill seeker of the group. They will have you soaring through our majestic mountains at extreme heights where you can witness the vibrant patchwork of the canopies. This is a unique way to breath in the fresh fair while soaking in the beautiful mountain range.

The North Carolina Arboretum
- Not a thrill seeker? That’s ok; the North Carolina Arboretum maybe more your style. This wonderful facility has a plethora of exhibits that showcase trees, plants, and flowers native to the Great Smoky Mountains. Test your new plant knowledge by taking a hike on one of the Arboretum’s many hiking trails. Can you name the trees?
- Trying to get the kids more excited about the new season? The North Carolina Arboretum is hosting the Nature Connects®, Art with LEGO® Bricks showcase now through October 23, 2016. There are a total of 14 LEGO® sculptures that are sure to get your child’s creative wheels turning. It is truly fun for all ages!
Waterfalls ‘n Wine Tour
- This one of a kind Waterfalls ‘n Wine tour takes place every Wednesday and Thursday through October. See five of the most astonishing waterfalls in the Pisgah National Forest while enjoying the historical commentary of the tour guide. There is a bit of a hike to get to some of these waterfalls so be sure to wear your waking shoes. After you have made it to all five waterfalls enjoy the short ride back to Brevard, NC where you will get a chance to sample of the wonderful libations of Broad Street Wines.
