Biltmore Village

Just steps away from The Residences at Biltmore is the Historic Biltmore Village. Exuding historic 19th-century appeal Biltmore Village features a varied collection of boutique shops, fine restaurants, galleries, and antique shops at the gateway to the Biltmore Estate.

Built in the 1890's as a "town center," Biltmore Village was created to house the craftsmen, artists and workers that supported the Biltmore Estate then owned by George Washington Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt commissioned Richard Morris Hunt, the architect for the Biltmore House, and Frederick Law Olmsted (designer of New York's Central Park) to plan and build what is now Biltmore Village. Included in the design was a Cathedral (the Cathedral of All Souls) bathed in period architecture.

While most shops are housed in historic cottages and buildings, several newer upscale shops like Williams-Sonoma, Chico's and Coldwater Creek can be found in Biltmore Village along with one-of-a-kind, exclusive boutiques like New Morning Gallery and Bellagio.

Tree-lined streets, brick sidewalks and period architecture make the area a delight to stroll through and explore. The village has garnered an international reputation for its unique character and charm.
