Jenny Herman![]() Sales ManagerJenny has over 13 years experience in the restaurant and lodging industries. Prior to obtaining the Sales Manager position at The Residences at Biltmore, she was the Sales & Marketing Associate at The Mansion on Delaware Avenue, a Butler serviced hotel in Buffalo, NY. Starting with the hotel six months after they opened, in her five years in that position, she helped catapult the luxury boutique property to achieve average occupancy of 81% and obtain international recognition. Since opening in 2001, the property has been honored with the AAA Four Diamond award for four consecutive years, featured on the Travel Channel, bestowed with the Conde Nast Johansens’ ‘Mark of Excellence’ and was named among Zagat’s ‘Top 100 US Small Hotels’. Her personal crowning achievement at The Mansion was being named 2003 Employee of the Year. Prior to The Mansion on Delaware Avenue, Jenny worked as a Member Services Coordinator/Personal Trainer at the Buffalo Athletic Club for Women in Williamsville, NY. In that position, she honed her sales and customer service techniques. Before that she worked as an Admissions Representative at Bryant and Stratton College in Lackawanna, NY, where her passion for serving the client’s needs grew. Her joy of serving the customer began with her entry into the restaurant industry when she was 16 years of age. Throughout the remainder of her high school career and continuing into her college career, Jenny worked as a server at a variety of restaurants including such Buffalo favorites as Café in the Square, The Parklane and Oliver’s. Working as a server gave her the flexibility and the funds she needed to complete her education at Canisius College in Buffalo where she studied Marketing and Management with a concentration in Hospitality Marketing. Armed with her education, extensive customer service background and experience, and the necessary sales skills garnered from her previous professional positions, she made her move into the luxury hospitality market. What she truly loves about her career is the opportunity she gets to work directly with the guest and enhance their overall experience. She also enjoys giving back to her community by volunteering for the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity and the WNC AIDS Project. Born in Geneva, NY and raised in Castile, NY, a rural town located between Buffalo and Rochester, Jenny recently relocated to Asheville, NC. Her relocation was due in part to further her career in hospitality in a thriving destination market but also because her and her husband, Brian, became enamored with the region when visiting friends that had relocated to the area. Married to Brian for two years they have two dogs, Medeski and Otis, that they love to take hiking and exploring in the mountains they now call home. |
