Joseph Hunter

General Manager

Joseph has over 30 years experience in the lodging industry and nearly 20 years as a General Manager.  He started his career at the Doral Country Club in Miami, FL after graduating from Florida International University’s School of Hospitality. 

His most recent General Manager position was with Hilton Hotels at the Doubletree Hotel in Grand Junction, CO.  During his tenure there the hotel went through a complete room renovation and was able to improve the hotel’s guest service scores to over 6% above the brand’s average.  Joseph also received the President’s Award for 2007 as the General Manager of the Year for the hotel company. 

Prior to his tenure at the Doubletree in Grand Junction, Joseph worked at Doubletree’s in Orlando and Tampa.  Before joining the Doubletree brand, Joseph was Managing Director of Grenelefe Resort and Executive Hotel Manager of Saddlebrook Resort.  He has also worked for Hyatt Hotels in the Chicago area. 

Joe and his wife, Becky, reside in Black Mountain where they have built a home, while their two sons, Michael and Matthew, still reside in Tampa, FL and their daughter, Jessica, resides in Phoenix.
